File Comparison feature of Compare Suite allows to compare text files, compare Microsoft Word, RTF (Rich Text Format), compare Excel spreadsheets, compare PDF, compare html Web Pages, plain text. You can also compare Zip archives, Rar archives and binary files. Read more about supported types.
Starting version 5.0:
- Office 2007 formats (docx and xlsx) are supported for comparison in Compare Suite.
- Open Office formats (odt, ods, odp, odg, odf, odb, odm, ott, oth, ots, otg, otp, sxw, sxc, sxg, sxi, sxd, sxm, stw, stc, std, sti) are supported for text comparison
Compare documents with common ancestor
Documents that are the same version of some other document can be compared using Compare Suite's char by char or word by word comparison.
Compare non-related documents
Documents that don't have a common ancestor cannot be compared char by char or word by word, because they have different structure. Use "by keywords" comparison for that purpose.

Other features
- Compare two folders feature allows to find changes that were made in two folders and contained files.
- Document audit of plain text files allows to accept or decline changes that were made.
- Command line allows to automate comparison and integrate Compare Suite with other software products.
