MD5 for Win32 introduced the "right-click and hash" interface to calculate a message digest without having to open a separate program. digestIT 2003 took it further by adding multiple file support, integrated copying and saving, and support for the SHA-1 message digest algorithm.
Introduce digestIT 2004, taking digestIT 2003 one step further by adding integrated verification support right in the same easy-to-use interface.

Features
- Integrates itself into Windows Explorer
- Simple right-click interface
- Multiple file support
- Quickly verify a MD5 or SHA-1 hash
- Save to file or copy to clipboard
- Native support for 64-bit Windows (x64 Editions)
- digestIT 2004 is recommended by the author of PGP &GPG: Email for the Practical Paranoid for checking hash signatures. On page 55 of the book, he says:
- "GnuPG makes a Windows checksum calculator freely available on www.gnupg.org, but it's not as full featured as I would prefer. I like DigestIT 2004, a freeware program that integrates nicely into the Windows desktop."
- digestIT 2004 is recommended by Netflix for use in their contest about predicting customer preferences for movies. It's in the FAQ .
- digestIT 2004 has been used by both SuSE and Novell, and has also been used by the Computer Crime Unit of the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation.
- digestIT 2003 was featured in a graduate-level lecture at Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. It was used as part of a lecture on hash algorithms by adjunct instructor Paul Howell for an assignment on the MD5 algorithm.
